Easy Peasy Cheesy Dog Biscuits

Easy to work with dough, this makes about 60 with a small cookie cutter. Dog tested and approved by four finicky taste testers. Don’t eat them all yourself!

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsps garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup light olive or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (my pups like mozzarella!)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk or water

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine all ingredients and mix in a large bowl until dough sticks together. Turn out on a floured baking mat or surface. Knead for about three minutes until dough is smooth, flouring surface and hands as needed.

Use a rolling pin to roll to about 1/2 inch. Cut with (bone shaped of course) cookie cutter and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment or lightly greased.

Bake for 20 minutes, check, rotate sheet to brown evenly and bake for five more minutes.

Cool on a rack and store in a container with a loose fitting lid. Haven’t tried to freeze these yet, but they’re such a hit with the pups and so fast and easy to make, will be giving that a try soon!
